Wendy McGinnis is an Iowa-licensed psychologist and a licensed health service provider in psychology. Wendy began with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agricultural Public Service Administration from Iowa State University. Wendy also received a Master of Science Degree in Sociology from Iowa State. She then attended the University of Iowa where she received an Education Specialist Degree in School Psychology and finally a Doctor of Philosophy Degree in School Psychology.

While at the University of Iowa Wendy worked for University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics in Pediatric Psychology where her time was focused on testing children for ADHD and learning disorders. She also provided services for pediatric psychology in the burn unit of the hospital.

Wendy has extensive experience working with incarcerated individuals through her employment with the Iowa Department of Corrections. She has worked with many women who have experienced severe trauma and abuse; and, she has provided extensive group and individual treatment services to male and female sex offenders.

Wendy’s areas of client interest or focus include: ADHD, Behavioral Issues, Academic Issues, Parent and Child Relations, Adolescent Issues, Personality Disorders, Transgender Issues, Gender Identity Issues, Substance Abuse, Depression and Substance-Induced Mood Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, PTSD, Grief and Loss, Sexual Abuse Victimization and Perpetration, Sexual Harassment, Anger Management, Geriatric Issues, and Chronic Pain.
