PTSD

PTSD

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) – is an anxiety disorder that develops after exposure to a terrifying event or ordeal in which physical harm occurred or was threatened. Individuals with PTSD usually have one or more of the following symptoms for at least a month: reliving the events, upsetting thoughts or flashbacks, avoidance of activities that remind the person of the original event, loss of interest in important activities, feeling that I must be on guard all of the time to protect oneself. Individuals with PTSD can be treated with systematic desensitization and/or EMDR.
