Provider Bio

Lana Herteen is a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC). She earned her masters degree from Indiana State University in 1996 and has 20+ years experience working with children, adolescents, young adults, and families. Lana believes that parenting is the toughest job on the planet yet kids don’t come with a training manual. She is passionate about helping parents gain confidence in their parenting role based on the idea that when we know better, we do better. She uses a range of therapy techniques (Play Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Polyvagal Therapy, Mindfulness, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy) adapted to the developmental age and specific needs of the individual with particular focus on understanding how the mind, brain, and body work together to regulate emotion and manage behavior. Lana’s hope for each person is that they recognize their strengths and develop their potential to live a full and healthy life.
